Goal(s)

Backing up - Pivoting at a distance

Process

The horse is in its zone, facing the rider. The rider asks the horse to back up to the hoop and place its hindquarters there. Then, the rider asks for a full pivot and instructs the horse to move back towards the starting zone in a forward walk. The exercise ends with the horse standing still facing the rider.
