Goal(s)

Achieve straightness and bending

Process

During the warm-up, don't hesitate to familiarize yourself with the setup and work on transitions. For example, make changes of rein and gait using the setup. EXERCISE 1) Starting from the track, try to achieve an alternation of straightness/bending at the trot by making two corners of the square. Then, move to the next step by connecting all four corners. The goal is to have straightness along the pole, then bending at each cone. EXERCISE 2) The aim of the second exercise is the same as the previous one. Simply add a canter transition initially. Use a corner to ask for your canter departure, make one side of the square, then return to trot at the beginning. For the more experienced, you can then chain trot/canter transitions at will along the sides of the square.

Difficulties

The distance between the straight line and the curve is very short, so be cautious of the changes in posture that happen very quickly, especially for exercise 2.
