Gradually work towards achieving the pirouette.
Conducted in the open nature, choose a tree as your reference point. Start with a few steps of haunches-in, then perform a half-turn on the haunches around the tree, and then move on. This exercise is performed at the walk, and can later be done in collected canter.
The horse must be collected and have a minimum level of suppleness. The forehand should be light.
